  • Cycling opportunities are constantly improving in foreign cities. It's fun and challenging to behave as rudely as a cyclist in Amsterdam. Sorry, I mean, of course, not to behave in the Amsterdam way. We rented city bikes from DolceVia and received new-looking German quality in return (they turn out to be lighter than the French version). A suspension seatpost took some getting used to, but it was quite pleasant on the cobblestones. The brakes worked well for our riding style; a quick stop was easy, and gentle braking is also possible. There was also the option of an electric-assist version; we opted for durability. The locks worked well; sometimes you'd want a bit more length to properly secure two bikes to gates, Amsterdam-style. After all, there's plenty of good ironwork in Paris to secure a bike to. The deposit was also returned promptly. 6 stars.
