🚲 Warm-up. To begin your adventure towards the Lake Geneva bike tour, you'll start gently on the greenway along the shores of Lake Annecy. The route leaves the "Venice of the Alps" to dip into the valley, offering splendid views of the surrounding mountains without the challenge of a steep climb.
🏞️ Nature and Valley. This is an ideal transition stage. You'll ride alongside the Bout du Lac nature reserve before following the old railway line towards Ugine. The route is safe and allows you to admire the Bauges and La Tournette massifs, which will guide you towards the more alpine section of the journey.
🏅 Arrival in Albertville. Welcome to the Olympic city! Gateway to the high valleys, Albertville is the perfect stop to prepare for the mountains. Take advantage of the evening to visit the medieval town of Conflans, which overlooks the city, offering a taste of the panoramas to come.

🚲 The call of the peaks. Things are getting serious! This short stage marks the beginning of your ascent to join the Lake Geneva cycling tour. You leave the valley to climb towards the Beaufortain massif. To avoid the traffic on the main road, opt for the quieter and more challenging alternative route via the Col des Cyclotouristes (1330 m).
🌲 Gateway to the Beaufortain. The climb offers you views of the Col du Frêne and the Bauges massif behind you. You enter an authentic mid-mountain area, made up of forests and lush green pastures that are the hallmark of the region.
🧀 Arrival in Beaufort. Here you are in the heart of the "Land of Cheese". Beaufort-sur-Doron is a charming and typical village. The must-do activity is a visit to the dairy cooperative to taste the famous Beaufort cheese, essential fuel for the next day's queen stage.

🚲 The queen stage. This is the centerpiece of your journey towards the Lake Geneva cycling tour. 57 km of pure mountain on the Route des Grandes Alpes. You'll tackle two legendary mountain passes: the Col des Saisies (gateway to the Olympic Games) and the Col des Aravis, the border between the two Savoie regions.
🏔️ Mont-Blanc and Alpine Pastures. The panoramas are spectacular. At the summit of the Aravis, the view of Mont-Blanc is breathtaking. You will pass through iconic resort villages like Hauteluce, Les Saisies, and La Clusaz, amidst flowery alpine pastures and traditional chalets.
Arrival in Le Grand-Bornand. After the effort, comfort awaits in this resort village with its 400 centuries-old chalets. Le Grand-Bornand has managed to keep its agricultural and festive soul. Enjoy the warm atmosphere of the village to recover.

You pedal through elegant residential towns, between green parks and historic homes, with the Alps gradually revealing themselves on the opposite shore.
🏰 Culture and History. This section is rich in heritage. Make a stop in Coppet to pay tribute to the memory of Madame de Staël in her castle of exile. 🚲 In the heart of UNESCO. This is undoubtedly the most spectacular moment of your Lake Geneva bike tour. After Lausanne, you enter the sacred lands of Lavaux. The terraced vineyards, a World Heritage site, offer breathtaking panoramas where the vines seem to dive directly into the blue of the lake.
🍇 Fine wines and a Castle. In Chexbres or Saint-Saphorin, take the time to taste a glass of local Chasselas while facing the landscape. The road then leads you to the legendary Chillon Castle. A true fortress set on the water, its 25 buildings and underground passages tell the entire history of the Counts of Savoy.
✨ Arrival in Villeneuve. You are now on the Swiss Riviera. After brushing past the jazzy atmosphere of Montreux, leave your bikes in Villeneuve. This town at the end of the lake offers a magnificent setting at the foot of the mountains for a relaxing evening by the water.
