What's on the program?
🚲 This first stage kicks off your journey and gradually takes you from the sea air of the corsair city to the bucolic sweetness of the inland areas. It's an ideal warm-up, mostly on a greenway, that leaves the coast to peacefully enter the Rance valley, marking the start of this Saint-Malo to Redon cycling adventure.
🏰 The adventure begins with a sea bus crossing offering a breathtaking view of the ramparts before reaching the Belle Époque villas of Dinard. A stop is then essential to admire Dinan, a superb medieval city with its cobbled streets and its castle perched above the river, before rejoining the calm of the towpath and the Mottay lock.
🍽️ The stage ends at the port of Evran where you can rest by the water. As for gastronomy, it's the perfect opportunity to taste local products in a small local brasserie, while a walk to the Bétineuc lake will offer a relaxing end to the day.

🌿 This section continues the Saint-Malo to Redon cycle route, starting from Evran to reach Montreuil-sur-Ille in a zen atmosphere, punctuated by the passing of boats and the lapping of water. It's a perfect family-friendly stage, completely safe on a flat greenway accessible to all skill levels.
⚓ Along the way, passing through Tinténiac allows you to discover its Museum of Tools and Old Trades, but the real highlight of this section of the Saint-Malo to Redon cycle route is the site of the eleven locks at Hédé. This spectacular alignment of structures offers a unique panorama and a moment of genuine relaxation, complemented by the view from the ruins of the old castle.
🥞 Upon arriving in the peaceful village of Montreuil-sur-Ille, the pace slows down, perfect for a well-deserved rest. For dinner, opt for a traditional Breton crêperie before taking a short digestive walk along the canal pounds to enjoy the soft late-afternoon light on the water.

🏙️ This short stage marks the midpoint of your journey as you travel along the east bank, a true paradise for river tourism. The arrival in the city is very smooth thanks to the cycle paths that ensure a fluid, stress-free transition from nature to the urban environment, an appreciated feature of the Saint-Malo to Redon cycle route.
🌳 The landscaped banks of Saint-Grégoire are perfect for a final nature break among joggers and fishermen. Just before the city center, crossing the Saint-Martin meadows offers a great breath of fresh air and a unique perspective to discover the architecture of Rennes from the canal banks.
🏛️ Once in Rennes, a visit to the historic center with the Parliament of Brittany and the Thabor Park is a must-see. It's impossible not to taste the famous galette-saucisse before ending the day with a drink on a terrace.

🏞️ Just outside Rennes, the Apigné ponds offer a beautiful recreational area before reaching the Boël site in Pont-Réan. This viewpoint is often considered the iconic postcard of the Saint-Malo Redon cycle route, with its purple schist cliffs and its mill cutting through the current along the river's meanders.
⛵ The arrival is at the historic port of Guipry-Messac where you can enjoy a waterside dinner with a direct view of the river. Strolling along the developed quays or visiting the old flour mill is an ideal activity to conclude this journey in peace and serenity.

🌉 The highlight of the route is undoubtedly the Corbinières site: a spectacular passage where the river weaves between steep schist cliffs under a huge railway viaduct. It's a great moment of your Saint-Malo to Redon cycling trip, as is the picturesque stop at Port de Roche with its historic bridge or the lively village of Brain-sur-Vilaine.
